Music is the universal language, is a science and most of all music is Art.
We strongly believe that music has the power to change lives, to enhance the social, cultural, and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression.
In addition, musical education can greatly contribute to people intellectual development such as, language, literacy and numeracy skill, teamwork ability as part of an ensemble, and responsible risk-taking with will help them become successful and reach their potential, as well as increases their emotional development regarding higher self-esteem, confidence and self-discipline.
We support the statement that every Australian child should receive a quality music education in school, this is the fact we are committed to it.
Parents are asked to support the program by providing their child encouragement, a quiet area in which to practice, preferably with a music stand, as well as, a safe place to keep the instrument at home. Also maintain regular contact with the School Concert Band Program coordinator, and Tutors by phone, email or practice diary. TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT.
Our accredited and experienced teaching staff it is composed of devoted music educator and performer with different musical background, all our tutors attend to staff development training on a regular based and hold a Working with Children Check Certificate.
Armando Garcia is a native of Cuba, since 1990, he has pursued a national and international career as a musical director, band leader, composer, arranger, Trumpet player and music educator, touring internationally, performing in Europe, UK, Pacific Island, New Zealand and Australia. For the past twelve years, he have been engaged in the concert band program as a music tutor and conductor at NSW public and private schools.
Armando has been a proud teaching staff member of different Registered Training Organizations (RTO) such as, Australia Institute of music, Teaching Service Australia, Directions in Music and Primary Music Institute, as well as, guest lecturer at various workshops and multicultural symposiums at The University of Technology of Sydney (UTS), and The University of Sydney.
His qualifications include a Certificate of Music Majoring in Trumpet Performance, Bachelor of Music Degree majoring in Musical Groups Conductor –Teacher, and TAE10110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; he is also an accredited Private Music Teacher for Trumpet, Piano, Conducting and Theory through the Music Teachers Association of NSW, as well as, full member of NSW Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA).
