The Drummers’ Hub was established in 2014 by Dave Goodman (PhD) – one of Australia’s most prominent and highly sought after performers and educators – and grew within 12 months to be cited in DRUMscene, Australia’s #1 drumming magazine, as ‘one of Australia’s leading independent drumset & percussion schools’.
Dave brings over twenty years of teaching experience from previous appointments at prominent institutions such as Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His goal for The Drummers’ Hub is:
“To connect dedicated drummers with each other, and with the best musical mentors and resources.”
To achieve this goal, The Drummers’ Hub offers music education resources and programs in a variety of formats including private drum lessons, which can be taken privately in Sydney, or over Skype; pre-recorded video lessons, drum clinic and workshop events, podcasts, articles, and masterclasses presented by Dave, as well as by special guest presenters.
With a list of illustrious past and present students – many of whom are professional performers and teachers – lessons and events at The Drummers’ Hub are based upon the principle of promoting learner-centred, self-determined learning – helping you progress toward what you want to learn. This means that, whilst lessons are drawn from hundreds of different subject areas, Dave understand that each learner is unique, requiring a tailored yet dynamic course to suit your specific needs and wants, which are entirely different from the needs and wants of any other learner.
Studying with Dave at The Drummers’ Hub can help you to benefit from:
• developing an expanded repertoire
• increasing your ability to improvise
• refining your aural skills
• sharpening your sight reading ability
• improving coordination around the instrument
• enhancing your technique to play more relaxed and pain free
