Bachelor of Music (UWA), AMus level piano
My name is Tiffany and I graduated from the School of Music at UWA in 2011 where I studied piano, composition, music theory, history and pedagogy. I have also studied Contemporary Music at WAAPA and have received numerous awards and grants for my musical projects. Alongside teaching, I sing in a choir and play in a chamber pop ensemble!
I have a deep, life-long understanding of all things music (and an ever-growing library of sheet music), so you can feel confident that you are choosing a qualified and well-equipped teacher.
I have been teaching piano since 2007 and currently have around 30 private students. I am also employed as a piano teacher within the Music Department at Santa Maria College in Attadale.
I am well-versed in many different methods of piano technique and I will adapt each lesson to suit your personal interests and learning style. I want to give students a good foundation of musical knowledge which involves strong note-reading skills, aural recognition, music theory and familiarity with different styles. Most of all, I want my students to enjoy playing and to find music they can connect to on a personal level.
I also encourage students to explore the intuitive, creative side of music through improvisation, singing, songwriting, composition and through listening and discussion.
My students are made up of a whole range of kids, teens and adults. Some of them sit AMEB exams, some play for fun, some write their own songs. So whether you want to be the next Mozart or the next YouTube sensation – I can help you achieve your dreams!
