Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Diploma of Music (Sound Engineering)
I have been playing violin for 21 years and have studied under the guidance of some of Australia’s best teachers including Keith Crellin (Head of Strings – Elder Conservatorium), who also taught me viola.
With over 3 years of teaching experience I have catered for a large variety of students ranging from very young to older adults. I aim to make my lessons enjoyable while still maintaining a strong focus on good technique. I believe it is important to set good habits early on so students don’t have to spend years fixing them like I did!
Teaching and creating music is my passion. I am in my last year of a double music/psychology degree and want to pursue a career in music teaching and studio recording/composition, I am most knowledgeable of classical music but have a strong appreciation for other genres too.
I have played in a number of orchestras including the Adelaide Youth Orchestra, Adelaide Sinfonia (Concert master), Norwood Symphony Orchestra, and the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. I have also worked as a freelance performer and studio musician.
I can help students prepare for AMEB exams and have done so in the past, but learning just for fun is fine too. I would like to help inspire and pass on my musical knowledge in a fun and enjoyable way.
If you are interested in learning violin or viola please call or email me to arrange lesson times.
