BMus (Melb), Opera Studio Melbourne (Alumni)
A Graduate of the University of Melbourne, and past participant of The Opera Studio Melbourne, I have had the privilege of singing for a number of high profile conductors and singers over the years, both in performance and workshop scenarios.
I have performed as a soloist and chorister with various opera companies and choral societies around Melbourne for the last few years, and am currently doubling the role of Nanki-Poo in some charity concert performances of The Mikado.
My teaching philosophy is a simple one, which involves giving a student what they need, whilst helping tailor it as much possible to what they want to use it for. I achieve this through a balance of exercises and practical applications, whilst keeping the environment as fun and bizarre as possible.
The skills I have acquired over several years of study, teaching and performance, saw me take up the post of voice teacher at Ringwood Secondary College in mid-term 1 of this year, a state school well know for its high quality music program. Whilst I obviously teach only school age students in that environment, I have taught students ranging in age form about 3-50+. It’s never too late to start exploring music.
Lesson enquiries can be made through Merlyns Music, a local music school in Heidelberg West.
