Tracey Ker has over 25 years experience teaching Pianoforte, Theory of Music and Musicianship.
As a student, Tracey studied Pianoforte with Elaine Keats and Ailsa Voigt and voice with Helen Jones in Tasmania, taking out the U18 Pianoforte Championship at the Burnie Eisteddfod in 1987 and winning a scholarship for most accumulated points; solo performance, accompaniment, singing and choral work.
She has played for numerous prestigious events including VIP functions and entertained the late Hazel Hawke at Hellyer College, Tasmania.
Continuing her passion for music after year 12 she commenced studio teaching followed by undergraduate studies at the Australian Catholic University (Melbourne) in 2003.
Piano performance studies were undertaken with distinguished musicians, Mikhail Solovei, Irina Kuzminsky and Roger Heagney (Distinction) in conjunction with studies in Choral Conducting.
Postgraduate studies include a Diploma of Education (ACU) in 2009 (Music Methods, Instrumental and Classroom- Secondary) and a Masters of Education (Leadership).
Currently employed full-time as Piano Teacher and Accompanist at Haileybury College, she is involved in a variety of teaching and performance roles. Educating beginners through to advanced students Prep – VCE, her experience covers all levels of pianoforte examinations, performances and concert preparation.
PLAY.LIVE.MUSIC was established in 2012 with the aim to provide exemplary instrumental teaching in a studio setting. Establishing a small studio in Northcote was followed by relocation to Fairfield and a subsequent move to the Mornington Peninsula. During this time, other instruments were offered including violin, cello, voice and guitar.
Tracey has limited availability for Pianoforte and Theory lessons after hours.
