Yejin Min is currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Professor Goetz Richter, where she holds Frank Hutchens Memorial Scholarship and Elise Herrman Scholarship. She is currently a member of Sydney Symphony Sinfonia and the concert master of a small community orchestra KOZY Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
Yejin was born and raised in South Korea, and she came to Australia in April 2010 to enhance her music study. Her major achievement in Sydney includes broadcasting of her “La Campanella’ in Joy’s World of TVS (Television Sydney) in November 2011, and performing in the Government House in April 2012 for a charity event – High Tea with the Governor of NSW Her Excellency Professor Bashir, sponsored by Arthritis NSW, and broadcasting of her performances as “Young virtuosi” in 2mbs-FM in May 2013.
Yejin also has performed with some orchestras as a soloist. She has performed Mozart Violin Concerto in D and Bach double concerto with I&P Chamber Orchestra, Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with KOZY Symphony Orchestra.
Yejin was a winner of Kendall National Violin Competition 2014. She was also a winner of Animato International Violin Competition 2013, where she performed Mozart violin concerto in D with orchestra and given Konrad Kohlert violin as the 1st prize. Also, she has won many eisteddfods including Aulos String Society Award and Bach Open Age Section in Ryde eisteddfod, and String Senior Championship in St George eisteddfod. She was a finalist in Kendall National Violin Competition 2013, and a semi-finalist in Gisborne International Violin Competition 2012.
Yejin is also interested in composition, and received 2nd place in Original composition section of the Sydney eisteddfod.
Since 2015, Yejin is teaching at Galdesville Public School.
