Currently, I teach all/low brass at Haileybury and Melbourne Grammar (all campuses) and direct brass ensembles, jazz bands, concert bands. Previous work experience: Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School, Melbourne Grammar (Grimwade), Haileybury College, Yarra Valley Grammar School and Wesley College (GW). I have also taught low brass at: Korowa AGS, Viewbank College, Frankston High School, Canterbury Girls Secondary College and Sunbury Downs College.

I hold: Arranging 1 - Berklee USA, Kodaly Teaching Qualification (Level 1 Lower Secondary - KMEIA), Graduate Diploma of Education (Victoria University), Bachelor Degree of Jazz Improvisation & Trombone Performance (Monash University, Melbourne), Advanced Diploma in Jazz/Popular Music (Box Hill Institute) and Certificate 1 in Music Industry.

I aim to open your ears, mind, and soul to the beauty of self expression with low brass instruments by teaching you to develop full control of the mental and physical aspects of brass playing and performance.

Using a proven embouchure technique (developed over 30 years of my and my mentor's professional teaching practise) I will teach you the skills needed to develop a warm, beautiful tone whilst exploring jazz and classical repertoire, improvisation, music reading and a multitude of music styles.

With over 25 years of trombone playing experience and many years as a working musician, I regularly perform in: Latin bands (salsa), small combo and big band Jazz groups, New Orleans funk outfits and soul bands.

I offer you the benefit of my wealth of experience that has been gained whilst performing the aforementioned styles and others such as Dixieland Jazz, ska, funk, Irish folk, classical and Brazilian music.

I have studied songwriting, jazz Improvisation with Berklee College Boston online & have completed study with UC San Diego in teaching and learning difficult subjects (neurological and improved learning). These studies also inform my teaching.
