I am a Sydney-based piano technician listed on both Yamaha Music Australia and Kawai Australia websites. The piano tuning industry in Australia is unregulated, and manufacturer recognition may be the only objective industry benchmark.

I have completed the month-long Grand Piano course (by invitation only) at the Yamaha Piano Technical Academy at Kakegawa, Japan. My aural tuning and regulation was assessed daily by senior factory technicians. I have also attended the Disklavier and Hybrid piano servicing workshop organised by Yamaha Music Australia.

I am not a self-taught or hobbyist piano technician. I have been tuning 4-5 pianos / day full-time for the last 10 years, and am usually booked out for the next 3 to 4 weeks.

I diagnose and carry out warranty work for both Kawai and Yamaha, and am usually called in to rectify what other tuner/technicians have messed up. I communicate directly with the warranty departments of both companies, and can lodge claims, organise replacements and repairs on your behalf.

My industry experience includes institutions such as Sydney Eistoddfod, the City Recital Hall, the Conservatorium of Music and the AMEB NSW. I have also serviced pianos at schools such as Radford College, Waverley College, Knox Grammar School, Trinity Grammar School, St Andrews Cathedral School, Ascham School and many more.
