Abby Griffith-Barrow

Abby's music journey started with piano and violin as a young age. After transitioning to the Harp, Abby found a passion that followed her throughout secondary school and into tertiary education. She has also practised musical theatre and ballet, taking on lead roles in musicals to which she suggested to incorporate the harp in her performance in 'Once Upon a Mattress' in her final year of Secondary School. Abby has previously been taught by Jacinta Dennett, Moya Jess at Ballarat Grammar and has participated in numerous Summer Harp Camps run by Alice Giles which involve daily masterclasses and harp ensemble. She gained orchestral experience through school, Ballarat Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony at the University of Melbourne and the Trinity College Chamber Music scholars program. Her most recent orchestral opportunity was playing as second harpist for the Ring Cycle Season with Melbourne Opera in 2023. Since then, Abby has finished a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, Diploma of music, and completed a 6-month exchange program in Lyon, France. Currently, Abby has started post-graduate law at the University of Melbourne, wishing to pursue harp throughout her studies and share her knowledge with students.
