Academy of Musikcraft & Mastery

At The Academy of Musikcraft & Mastery, Jara is passionate about bringing the best educational experience to her violin and viola students. As a professional and dedicated pedagogue, Jara uses methods influenced by some of the worlds most widely known and respected educators such as Mimi Zweig (former teacher of Joshua Bell), Paul Rolland, Simon Fischer, and others to create a curriculum, which is tailored to meet the goals of each student.

Having a broad education in a variety of genres herself, Jara teaches a variety of music and uses a keen attention to detail to ensure that students learn the stylistic features that distinguish each genre.

While it is important that strong technical foundations should be given focus to allow for risk free playing, musicality, self-reflection, and a full musical experience should be a part of learning from the beginning.

Learning should be a fun and enjoyable journey for all students. Everyone should feel welcomed at The Academy and participation is encouraged in all events for students at all stages of learning (whether you picked up your instrument 2 weeks ago or 2 years ago!).

At The Academy we hold a number of events to keep students engaged and have a chance trying new things. We currently hold an annual House Cup Challenge, Midwinter Concert, and Christmas Concert.

For students who are interested in exams, Jara uses the *AMEB syllabus. By following Jara's curriculum, students achieve Honours and High Distinctions in their exams.

We’re excited to talk to you and tell you more about the unique experiences we can offer you as a student in your pursuit of learning music!

*AMEB Syllabus: It is important to note that the exam syllabus, as stated by AMEB examiners, is not designed as a full curriculum. Students learning solely from examination materials may be more likely to experience difficulties at various stages of their learning.
