Aimee-Rose Keppler is a diligent Mezzo-Soprano with a passionate love of music and performing based in Perth. She is currently studying the Bachelor of Music majoring in opera performance and completed her Diploma of Music in Opera Performance prior to her degree. She is the 2023 holder of the UWA Choral Society Scholarship for the Best Incoming Classical Voice Student and was nominated for the Breakthrough Award at the Finleys after her debut role Lisa, in The Gilvert and Sullivan Society’s production of The Grand Duke. After graduating, her lifelong goal is to move to Europe and perform in the many spectacular, historical opera houses. She has also realised that she has a deep affection for teaching and would like to open a performing arts school and teach others that music can help you feel supported and can help you grow as an individual.
After starting training in singing, dancing and acting at the age of three, Aimee-Rose Keppler found that she loved being able to tell a story through music and favoured singing and ballet especially. She began formal singing training at the age of nine with her current vocal coach, Gloria Underwood. Since then, her voice has developed hugely and has been described by her singing teacher as “rich and bold”. She has worked extremely hard to complete all her ANZCA examinations up until Grade 7 with First Class Honour results. Aside from examinations, she has won multiple awards in eisteddfods such as the South Suburban Music Eisteddfod where she was awarded first place in the 18 Years and Under- Musical Theatre section.
Aimee-Rose Keppler has also performed in countless operas and musicals such as the principal role, Lisa in The Grand Duke and chorus roles in The Mikado, Iolanthe Sorcerer and Patience with The Gilbert and Sullivan Society, as well as lead roles in well-known shows such as The Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz with Prompt Corner at the Astor Theatre and Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with New City Theatre Performance Troupe.
Recently, Aimee-Rose has started offering private vocal lessons at her house for children under the age of eighteen. Her lessons include classical technique training through technical exercises and repertoire with a focus on breathing, quality of tone and storytelling. She also includes music theory as part of her lessons as she has a big belief that all performers should understand the mechanics of the music they are singing.
