Alex Liao

I have nearly a decade of experience playing the double bass and enjoy teaching students. I have tutored with the Queensland Youth Orchestras, where I work with young musicians to develop their technique, musicality, and confidence. As a performer, I am the Associate Principal in the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra and also a member of the Queensland Youth Symphony and the Logan City Symphony Orchestra. In addition, I have had the privilege of performing alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, gaining invaluable professional experience. I currently study under the tutelage of Phoebe Russell, Principal Double Bass of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, which continues to inspire and refine my playing and teaching.

My teaching is shaped by both my performance background and my passion for helping students achieve their goals, whether they are preparing for AMEB exams, auditions, or playing for personal enjoyment.
