With two decades of experience, Alexander is a dedicated violin and viola instructor currently teaching at Melbourne Grammar, and St Leonard’s College. He has previously held positions at several of Melbourne’s top schools, including Ivanhoe Grammar, Mount Waverley Secondary College (where he held the position of Head of Strings for ten years), MacRobertson Girls’ School, Firbank Grammar, and Tintern Grammar. Additionally, he has provided tutoring for many of Melbourne’s esteemed educational programs, including the Melbourne Youth Music Program, the Victorian State School Spectacular, and the Monash University Academy Orchestra.

Alexander specialises in equipping students of all levels with a strong technical foundation and musicianship skills. Alexander believes that with the right support, every student can develop their musical abilities and is committed to teaching students how to read music effectively from the outset. He is experienced in preparing students for AMEB examinations, VCE Units 1-4, International Baccalaureate assessments (IB), music scholarships/university auditions, and eisteddfods.

Alexander’s academic qualifications include a Master of Arts (Music Performance), an Honours Degree in Advanced Musical Performance Studies, and a Bachelor of Music Performance. During his studies, he received a scholarship to study and perform in South America, was the recipient of the Monash University Chamber Music Prize, and participated in an intensive chamber music program in Florence, Italy.

Throughout his performance career, Alexander has performed with renowned artists like Andrea Bocelli, Delta Goodrem, Tina Arena, Natalie Imbruglia, Sigur Rós, Nemanja Radulović, and Paul Dyer, the artistic director of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. He’s performed across Australia, Europe, Asia, and South America, and continues to perform with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic.
