Master of Arts (Music Performance), Honours Degree in Advanced Musical Performance Studies with First Class Honours, Bachelor of Music (Performance) with First Class Honours
Alexander currently teaches violin and viola at St Leonard’s College, and Ivanhoe Grammar School. He has previously held positions at Mount Waverley Secondary College (Head of Strings), MacRobertson Girls’ School, and Tintern Grammar. He has also tutored the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, Victorian State School Spectacular, and the Monash University Academy Orchestra.
Alexander specialises in providing a proficient technical foundation and musicianship to students of all levels. He is experienced in preparing students for AMEB examinations (Violin/Viola/Theory), VCE Units 1-4, music scholarships/university auditions, and eisteddfods. Alexander is a passionate teacher that believes every student is capable of developing great musical ability in a nurturing and supportive environment. All students are taught to read music fluently from the outset.
Alexander holds the following qualifications;
– Bachelor of Music (Performance) with First Class Honours
– Honours Degree in Advanced Musical Performance Studies with First Class Honours
– Masters of Arts (Music Performance)
In the third year of his undergraduate degree Alexander was awarded a full scholarship to study and perform throughout South America.
Alexander has performed throughout Europe, Asia and America, and continues to perform regularly with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic, as well as smaller chamber groups.
