Alexandra Boyling

  • B.Mus (Performance) Cello - Sydney Conservatorium of Music

Alexandra Boyling began learning the cello at the age of 8 and has recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying with Julian Smiles. She has been a recipient of the Chandler Scholarship from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Tassell Performing Arts Tertiary Scholarship through Hunter Valley Grammar School, and a full music scholarship at Hunter Valley Grammar School. Alexandra has learnt from teachers including Julian Smiles and Sally Maer, and has also had the opportunity to play for distinguished artists including Nicola Benedetti, Leonard Elschenbroich, Axel von Huene and the Esme Quartet. She received her AMusA with Distinction in 2019. Alexandra also has extensive orchestral experience and has performed as principal cello of the Sydney Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and been a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra. Alexandra hopes to have a diverse and rewarding performing career, and is aiming to study overseas in the future.
