I have 20 years of playing experience on the violin, and have been actively teaching violin, viola and piano to students across all ages and levels of experience for the past twelve years. I hold my Graduate Diploma of Education and Bachelor of Creative Arts ( Music Performance) degree and also work as a strings teacher/string ensemble director. My students consistently achieve great results in AMEB exams, and continue to meet and exceed their own personal goals.
Whether you are a beginner looking to take up your first instrument or an advanced player pursuing a career as a violinist, I will individually tailor your lessons to ensure they are challenging, enriching, and most importantly – fun! :) I primarily teach classical (as it is the foundation of all other styles), but have also ventured into other styles including celtic, folk, gypsy, pop… you name it! So for intermediate – advanced players I am happy to explore other styles with you, in addition to your classical training.
I can also incorporate music theory training into lessons for those studying for exams in longer 45min or 1hr lessons.
I am always excited to take on new students, especially now as I recently moved into the area, so please feel free to email or call me with any questions.
I look forward to learning together in the near future.
