Whether you are a young beginner or an experienced player, Amanda's teaching style aims to motivate each student by tailoring her approach to each individual. She emphasizes development of technique and a serious approach to practice while exploring repertoire that will inspire and delight.
Amanda believes in music as a lifelong pursuit, something that can provide joy, social contacts and work opportunities throughout a lifetime of musical participation. She is passionate about sharing these benefits with her students. Her program includes developing ensemble skills, and mentoring older students as they begin teaching piano in their turn.
In over 20 years of teaching she has prepared students for AMEB, Trinity College, Board of Studies (HSC) and university graduate performance examinations. As well as encouraging and supporting students' other performance and teaching goals.
