I am a singing teacher located in the Scarborough/Doubleview area and currently have some spots available.
I am WAAPA trained, having completed a Bachelor's Degree in Voice and specialise in teaching contemporary (pop), music theatre and classical singing to primarily kids/teens, however I also teach adults upon request. I have taught in multiple music schools, including my current employment with a national performing arts company, where I've been teaching for the last five years, and have been appointed Music Director for two original musicals, the most recent of which won Best Children's Show at 2019 Perth Fringe World
I believe that music is about enjoyment, confidence and having fun. I honestly do think that anyone can learn how to sing given the correct training and drive to do so. The most important thing to me as a teacher is that my students enjoy their lessons and are excited to learn new technique and repertoire in order to improve their own confidence.
I cater lessons to each individual student and hence, may be focussing on a variety of different things in each lesson. Generally I place a focus on:
- Musicality - including reading music and how to improve pitch and rhythm
- Vocal Technique - including breathing, posture, vocal production, projection
- Song Lyrics - How to interpret the lyrics and appropriately emote them to create a more genuine performance
- Nerves/Performance anxiety and confidence
Amongst many other aspects of performance.
I'm currently teaching Monday-Wednesday's and Saturday's and would love to offer a free trial lesson to anyone interested in having a go.
I have my Police Clearance and WWCC and have references available on request. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call me on 0431 914 724 or email me on email@example.com.
