Certificate of Musical Theatre WAAPA, AMEB Singing For Leisure Grade 8, AMEB Singing For Leisure Certificate of Performance, AMEB Grade 4 Theory, More than 20 years experience in the Professional Singing Industry & nearly 10 years experience in Vocal Tuition

I am a professional singer & experienced singing teacher & am looking to serve the Margaret River community with my love for singing & music. My singing style is primarily contemporary/pop, folk & musical theatre, but I can also do classical, jazz & international music (in foreign languages).

I grew up in Manjimup & attended Manjimup Senior High School. In Manjimup I studied singing with a local teacher; learning basic technique & harmony. I sang lead in an A Capella Women’s Choir through high school, & also sang lead & harmonies in the Manjimup High Rock Band. In my final 2 years of high school I was in a 4 piece A Capella group with 3 girlfriends. We went on to gig professionally at festivals, local pubs & even on Telethon in 1997. We also wrote, arranged & sang our own original songs. I was top Music Student at MSHS in 1997.
I also learnt keyboard, flute & acoustic guitar during this schooling season.

Having moved to Perth after high school I completed my Certificate of Musical Theatre at WAAPA in 1999. I was still song writing & gigging in Perth in a duo with my best friend. We both played acoustic guitar, did harmonies & began recording demos.

Several years later I returned to singing in a gospel choir in Perth’s biggest contemporary Christian church. I then was trained in lead backing & then lead singer. I led the music on 2 separate church volunteer trips to Rwanda, Africa in 2007 & 2008. In 2011 I returned for 3 months voluntary service in Rwanda where I hosted singing workshops for local church music teams.

From 2007-2015 I studied singing under Rae-Helen Fisenden of Fisenden Music in Perth. Under her tutoring I extended my voice into the classical & jazz techniques, also improvisation & theatrical performance. She successfully guided me through the AMEB Singing For Leisure Exams Grade 6, 8 & the Certificate of Performance. I also completed my AMEB Theory Grade 4.

I have been teaching singing privately for more than 6 years, my pedagogy incorporating Rae-Helen’s influences, my own interest in the Alexander Technique (which I studied for a time), the body as the instrument, & that which I have learnt from my diverse students over the years- male & female age 8-late 40s.

I recorded & released my own album of original folk/pop music in 2014, & am still in the process of recording a new EP. I have gigged professionally at weddings, festivals, events, funerals, parties. I perform solo, with a classical guitarist & with an inspirational band.
