My name is Andrew Gioia. I am a professional trumpet tutor and performer and have been teaching trumpet for over a decade to high-school aged children as well as adults. During this time I have developed my teaching style to be kind, positive and encouraging so as to create an experience of learning music that strengthens both a love of music and of the learning process. I teach from my home music studio based in Preston.

I have been a regularIy gigging trumpet player in Melbourne in a variety of projects as either a leader, a sideman or in a section since 2013, and completed my honours in jazz performance from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2012.

I specialise in jazz and improvisation, however am experienced with classical repertoire, motown and funk through my many years of music education, teaching and professional experience.
