Andrew Jezek was born in Canberra and studied viola at the Canberra School of Music with Vincent Edwards and Chairman Gadd, graduating with honours in 1991. He continued his studies in Europe at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Jürgen Weber (viola) and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Karl Österreicher (conducting).
As a chamber musician he has performed with renowned Viennese ensembles such as Ensemble Kontrapunkte, Österreichische Kammersymphoniker, Die Reihe and the Wiener Kammeroper. As a baroque violist he has performed and recorded CD's with Concerto Armonico Wien and Le Monde Classique and has also been involved in numerous music theater-, film- and television productions.
He was a member of the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO Wien) 1993-95, Klangforum Wien 1996-2014, and was also a member of the Vienna Art Orchestra.
Andrew returned to Australia in 2013 to live in Sydney with his wife Emma (Associate Principal 2nd Violin Sydney Symphony Orchestra) and daughter Lila.
He now works regularly with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
