I am a professional violist having played at the top of the profession in the West Australian, Tasmanian and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras. I have also taught in a private studio, tutored for the WA Youth Orchestra and examined for the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) in violin, viola and harp.
In my teaching, I offer lessons tailored to suit the needs of the individual with materials drawn from a wide variety of sources. Reading music and developing aural skills are also covered. In all of this, I generally follow the approach set out in the AMEB syllabus, which is highly regarded worldwide as a measure of excellence in music.
My impetus in teaching is to enable others to share the joy of playing (and understanding) music for themselves, make music with others at whatever level the individual is capable of and add richness to their lives!
