Andy started his violin journey at the age of 11 in 2014 and was gifted with perfect pitch. He was successfully awarded A.Mus.A in 2019, five years after playing the violin. In 2020, he completed AMEB grade 5 theory.

He is a recent graduate of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, having studied under Dr. Curt Thompson and received multiple string scholarship during his time of study.

Andy was part of the Melbourne University Symphony Orchestra from 2022 to 2024, and the Victorian State School Spectacular Orchestra in 2019 and 2020. He has performed in the Melbourne Recital Centre, Hamer Hall, and John Cain Arena. Furthermore, Andy has toured internationally in Singapore and Malaysia, performing in the YST Conservatory Concert Hall and Dewan Filharmonik Petronas.

He has received mentorship and masterclasses from world-renowned musicians such as Jun Iwasaki, Brant Taylor and Joan DerHovsepian. He was also provided the opportunity to receive coaching and mentorship from the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Teaching philosophy:
Andy places strong emphasis on building students basic foundations and techniques e.g. posture, scales, exercises. These will be vital in shaping a student's violin playing in the future. He actively encourages students to do AMEB exams because it's what keeps the students motivated and engaged.
