I'm Angus, an experienced working pianist and keyboardist in Melbourne. I've got a proven track record of excellence in teaching (over 10 years), and I'm enthusiastic and passionate about my students' goals and progression.

My lessons take a personalised approach to music education. But no matter your goals, the underlying principles stay the same: playing with musicality, conviction and beauty. You might want to learn how to read sheet music, improvise, compose, discover harmony, learn music history and stories behind the music you love or develop appreciation for new music. While it's serious work, it will be paced for your goals and I assure you it will be fun and rewarding!

It's your choice whether to study classical music, jazz music or pop/rock/contemporary styles, however all students are expected to develop technique and musicality. An annual concert at the end of the year gives students a chance to perform to a live audience if they wish.

VCE Music and AMEB exams to Grade 8 preparation available.

Online students will have a clear view of the keys and my hands as I demonstrate, as well as an overlay of manuscript notation and chord symbols. Screen-share and whiteboard functionality allow for clarity of communication and PDF materials will accompany lessons to direct practice.

Qualification
Bachelor of Fine Arts (Contemporary Music) from the University of Melbourne, 12 years teaching experience, 9 years industry performance experience, AMEB Grade 8 (2010). Please contact me for a full resume if needed.
