I am an enthusiastic teacher who loves playing the cello. I teach from my private studio in Waratah - providing face-to-face lessons and/or online Zoom lessons.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages, from children to mature adults - from beginners to advanced students. I have small instruments available for children from 4 years old and I am skilled in teaching students with different learning styles. I incorporate movement games to develop good posture and have studied Alexander Technique. I have over 35 years experience in teaching the cello and was a Cello Examiner for the AMEB in Queensland for 10 years before relocating to NSW.

My teaching approach is personalised and eclectic - drawing on a broad knowledge of repertoire from Suzuki to AMEB and more. Learn just for fun or prepare for exams - come and explore the glorious colours of the cello sound.

Since moving to Newcastle in 2010 I have immersed myself in local music making performing with Christ Church Camerata, Opera Hunter, Lake Macquarie Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Pacific Palm Court Orchestra. I also perform improvised healing meditation music.

I teach cello in my studio at Waratah. I also run a cello choir for late starters - it is a lot of fun!
