Azariah Felton is a teacher, composer, and sound artist from Perth, Australia, whose music ranges from instrumental concert pieces to sound art and installations, and includes collaborations with dance, film, and theatre. He draws from wide-ranging influences: popular styles including metal, jazz, and ambient music, and ‘art’ styles such as postminimalism and electroacoustic music. His works have been performed at La Biennale di Venezia Danza (2018), the Montpellier Dance Festival (2018), the Kuala Lumpur International Composers’ Series (2017), and in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. He grew up all over Western Australia, from Denmark to the Kimberley, and remains a country kid at heart. He currently teaches composition and sound production at WAAPA and Mount Pleasant College. Azariah lives and works in Boorloo (Perth), on Whadjuk Nyoongar Boodja.
