Singing Lessons - Bright Star Vocals

Bright Star Vocals offers singing lessons to any students aged 5+ so whether you're a youngster just finding your voice, or all grown up and wanting to try something new, you'll find the perfect lesson for you! All lessons are tailored to the individual student so you'll get all the tools you need to find your true voice.

Lessons at Bright Star Vocals are run by Belinda Butler, a WAAPA grad with a decade of experience in the performing arts, so she's well versed in proper vocal technique, song interpretation and dealing with performance anxiety.

What to expect in your singing lessons:

Vocal warm ups - you'll learn to prepare your voice with simple exercises designed to ease you into singing. You'll also learn about how singing works and begin to build up correct singing technique.

Aural training - you'll work on pitch-matching skills, holding your own part against another part (harmony singing), and learn about the basic 'building blocks' of music.

Song you want to sing - at Bright Star Vocals, you'll work collaboratively with your teacher to choose songs you actually want to sing. If a song is too difficult for your current technical ability, we'll find a similar song that is just right!

Interpretation and performance coaching - Every song has a 'feeling' or 'meaning' behind it, and you'll work on tapping into this to achieve the best possible performance. Bright Star Vocals is particularly specialised in audition preparation for musicals and operas.

Improved confidence - Bright Star Vocals offers a safe space for singers to experiment with their voices and make mistakes without judgement. There are always interesting sounds being heard in the studio!
