Berish Bilander

Berish Bilander is an accomplished performer who has received a Bachelor of Music from the Western Australian Academy of Music (WAAPA) with Honours (Improvisation) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).

As a performer he has worked with some of Australia’s leading musicians and ensembles such as Vika and Linda Bull, Mia Dyson, Jaimi Faulkner Band, Latin band ‘Descarga’ and the funk band ‘Single Malt Special’, as well as co-leading Motion, a new-music ensemble.

In 2012 Berish was invited to participate in the BANFF International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music in Canada and named TD Jazz Fellow.

Berish is a passionate and enthusiastic educator who has over 16 years experience teaching piano both privately and in schools. He currently coordinates the piano program at Princes HIll Secondary College.

His breadth of knowledge in the music industry, which encompasses solo and ensemble performance, composition, theory and sound recording means he is able to offer students a holistic musical education.
