"Beth’s talent and experience has been invaluable for my growth in learning piano. She has always provided useful feedback on how to improve my playing, has a knack for breaking down things I’m struggling with into manageable steps, and is full of practical advice and wisdom. I highly recommend learning piano with Beth."

"I will really miss your exceptional teaching skills as you have been the perfect teacher for me. I took up the piano in retirement after learning for a couple of years as a child. Although I could read music, I didn't want to do theory as I had found it boring. You accepted that and made my whole learning experience a great pleasure. You also put a great deal of thought into choosing me pieces that I might love to learn and play. Thank you so much for making my return journey to the piano both pleasurable and rewarding."

"I eagerly but nervously began learning piano as an adult 2 years ago. Beth was the closest teacher to where I lived. How lucky I was! She was patient and knew how to encourage me and move me through my hurdles ( and I imagine others as she knows how to build skills). She is very talented and will not only get you technically correct but has a really expressive way of playing and imparting that too. Her bookshelf is brimming with music; she will find the genre and level for any student and also has fabulous book recommendations. I found Beth’s YouTube channel helped me strengthen the face to face lesson skills. I am very sad to see her move away."

"Beth is a fantastic piano teacher. My daughter made amazing progress under Beth’s tutelage and has become a confident pianist.
Beth’s patience and good nature are a match for her teaching skills. She’s great with kids and adults, is professional yet friendly.
I strongly recommend Beth if you’re looking for a dedicated piano teacher."

Hello! My name is Beth Alcock and I am a 2nd generation piano teacher.  I have been teaching piano for 14 years, and love helping people dig out their inner musician at the piano.

I learnt piano from ages 3-18 with Eric Mitchell, who was one of the pioneers of the Suzuki method in Australia, and I have a Bachelor of Music majoring in Piano Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium.

Having taught piano in private schools throughout Brisbane for many years, and worked with people of all ages, my chosen niche these days is teaching adults.

You can find my piano playing on YouTube:

My channel has over 30 million views, and has become a reference point for piano students all over the world.

Learning piano can be so rewarding, and wonderful for cognitive and mental health as well. Shoot me a message and lets get you started!
