With over 20 years of flute-playing experience, Bethany offers engaging and encouraging flute lessons for students of all ages and abilities. Drawing on orchestral, concert band, and piccolo experience, she teaches both classical and contemporary styles, helping students develop strong technique while enjoying the music they love.

Qualifications & Experience

• Over 20 years of flute-playing experience
  Extensive experience in a wide range of music groups orchestral, concert band, and contemporary bands
• Achieved Grade 8 Flute with High Distinction
• Received an HSC Encore nomination following a full-mark performance examination
• Experience teaching and encouraging young musicians

Lessons for Young Children
Flute lessons are also available for children from approximately 5 years of age. Specially designed beginner flutes can be used for students who are not yet physically ready for a traditional flute, allowing younger children to begin learning in a comfortable and enjoyable way. Lessons for young children can be adapted to shorter times for developing attention spans.

Performance Opportunities
Students will have opportunities throughout the year to participate in informal piano-accompanied recitals, building confidence and experience in performing for others.

A Philosophy of Music Education
Music is about much more than learning notes. Through music, students learn discipline, perseverance, teamwork, creativity, and the ability to appreciate artistic expression. These are skills that extend far beyond music lessons and benefit every area of life.
Most importantly, music should be enjoyable. As students grow in skill and confidence, they discover the unique satisfaction that comes from mastering something challenging a lesson that serves them well throughout life.
