Beverly Kwan

Beverly is a Sydney-based violinist and music educator, holding a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She teaches through the Sydney Conservatorium Open Academy, tutors with Sydney Youth Orchestras, and maintains a thriving private studio, drawing on her professional performing career to inspire students of all ages.

An accomplished orchestral and solo performer, Beverly has performed professionally at the Sydney Opera House as a member of the Opera Australia Orchestra for over a year and has appeared with leading ensembles across Australia and internationally, including the Australian Youth Orchestra. She has held leadership positions including Concertmaster of the Sydney Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist in recital series throughout Sydney. Beverly is also the recipient of awards in several national and international violin competitions and has studied with many of the world's leading violin pedagogues through masterclasses and international festivals.

As a teacher, Beverly works with students from 5 years of age through to adults, welcoming everyone from complete beginners to advanced players. Lessons are individually tailored to each student's goals, whether preparing for AMEB examinations (Preliminary–Grade 8), auditions, or simply learning for enjoyment. Her students consistently achieve outstanding examination results, with an average AMEB grade of A, reflecting her emphasis on strong technical foundations, musical expression, and enjoyable, engaging lessons.

Lessons are available in Chippendale in a supportive and encouraging environment where students are challenged, inspired, and equipped with the skills to become confident, expressive musicians.
