A Professional Harmonicist based in Macquarie Park. I have been playing Harmonica professionally for over 10 years both as a band leader, sideman and session musician
I am also founded the Australian Harmonica Player Network Inc. A not for profit organisation focused on building professional connections nationwide with the aim of raising the profile and playing standard of the Harmonica within Australia.
My teaching method is highly personalised whilst ensuring that a strong foundation is placed on establishing correct posture and breathing technique to obtain the best possible tone, intonation and timing. Combined with scale, chord and compositional theory I can help you expand the possibilities of what you can do with the Harmonica.
I will also guide you on my extensive knowledge of purchasing the best equipment for your playing needs. From finding the right mic and amp combination, understanding the difference between out of the box and custom harps to learning how to set up and maintain your harmonica.
Beginner to advanced players are welcome.

“Ray has been teaching me Harp now for about a year. I had never played ANY instrument before, and had no musical knowledge. Ray has taken that complex world and packaged it up in a format that has made it easy for a novas’ like me to understand and enjoy. He is a great teacher, and amazing player and a down-to-earth guy. Go and see him if you want to learn the Harp.” - Matt Fitzpatrick
“I have been taking frequent music lessons from Ray and have always been impressed by his outstanding knowledge base and attention to detail. Ray is a perfectionist and strives to offer a logical, step-by-step approach to learning while also providing the tools for students to progress on their own time. Ray is without doubt among the top tier of blues harmonica players working in Australia today.” - Guy Wilkinson
