Nigel Foote is one of Australia's most experienced guitar teachers (45,000 lessons). Nigel has taught country-folk-blues guitar privately at home in the Blue Mountains since 1983, and also for Mitchell Conservatorium of Music and schools in the region. Nigel has recorded three albums and won a number of songwriting awards, including two PATER Awards and the Rudy Brandsma Award.
Martin Foote has taught guitar since 2011, teaching all levels of country-folk-blues guitar, including the advanced tunes of Tommy Emmanuel. Martin was taught by his father, Nigel Foote, and later studied the styles of Tommy Emmanuel, attending Tommy's workshops and camps, culminating in a duo performance of 'Classical Gas' with Tommy, himself. Martin released his debut CD, 'Moving On' at the 2018 Blue Mountains Music Festival.
Dawn Egan has taught Celtic harp at home in the Blue Mountains since 1996 and also for Mitchell Conservatorium of Music. Dawn has recorded six albums, including four CDs for ABC Music, receiving two ARIA Nominations for her work.
Nigel, Dawn and Martin formed Blue Mountains Guitar School in 2014. They teach the traditional and contemporary styles used by many of the world's finest artists. From Turlough O'Carolan, Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis and Doc Watson, through to Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Leo Kottke, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Gillian Welch, Mike McClellan, Paul Kelly, Ed Sheeran, Passenger and Tommy Emmanuel.
