I am offering violin tuition for all ages and stages. I am a professional violinist with many years of performing experience all over the world. I have held positions with orchestras including Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria (principal 1st violin), Auckland Philharmonia (associate concertmaster) and Royal Covent Garden Opera Orchestra, London, UK. Currently I freelance with various ensembles including Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and am principal violinist with St John's Bach orchestra and Australian Chamber Choir original instrument ensemble.
I have almost completed my training as an accredited Suzuki violin teacher and am also training as an Alexander technique teacher. This will enable me to help students develop advanced technique with a free and easy body use from the very beginning.
I began teaching privately when I was 18 and have taught at schools including Royal Northern College of Music Junior School, Manchester, UK and St Michael's Grammar School, Melbourne.
I encourage group participation from the very beginning as I find it motivates and fosters a love of music making.
I can teach the AMEB syllabus and prepare students for exams where appropriate. I encourage students to take part in concert performances from an early age. This helps build self confidence, fosters enjoyment and creates a sense of achievement. This in turn helps create a work ethic in the student and progress is faster.
