Upscale Music- is a business which provides high quality instrumental tutoring in Brass and Woodwind instruments. My name is Byron, I am the principal/senior teacher and we also have a number of qualified tutors who also provide lessons.
We teach a method which we have developed over 20 years of teaching instrumental music, based on teaching an understanding of note reading, aural (ear training), singing, and principals behind how to breath and use air to produce the best tone on your instrument. We primarily use Essential Elements band method then move onto AMEB exam books, but we also incorporate a lot of other content from our online resources, and other good books.
Along with weekly lessons we provide access to our online platform which has many instructional videos, practice DEMO recordings, play along practice routines, prerecorded lessons, worksheets, exam planners and other useful material.
Communication is the key to successful music education because the journey is really a partnership between teacher, student and parents. We need the support of parents to help provide the environment where practice is possible so we endeavour to contact parents by phone once a term, and invitation to a Google Doc music diary which is updated weekly.
In addition to instrumental lessons at Upscale Music, we provide musicianship and theory lessons, instrument maintenance workshops, AMEB exam preparation workshops and mentoring for advanced musicians.
