Hi! My name is Caitlin Annesley, and I'm a musician, teacher and researcher, currently studying Honours at Queensland Conservatorium. I recently graduated from the Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance (Distinction), placing first in my year and attaining the Maurice Mears Memorial Prize for dedication to studies.

My career as a violist has seen me perform with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra (including a project as Principal Viola); tour internationally with the Queensland Youth Symphony, playing in prestigious venues such as the Wiener Musikverein, Hamburg Laieszhalle, and Singapore Esplanade Concert Hall; and with Australian Youth Orchestra's Alexander Orchestra. I've also had experience in contemporary and non-classical music, playing with DeepBlue Orchestra.

Having overcome many obstacles in my own musical training, I seek to be a kind, encouraging and patient teacher to my students. I aim to nurture my students' individual love of music, whilst also ensuring they develop a healthy technique. I maintain a small private studio in Auchenflower, teaching viola, piano and violin. Most of students travel to me, however, I can arrange to travel to your home if it is within easy access of public transport - please note that I charge extra for this.

I'm an encouraging and supportive teacher who seeks to motivate students to develop their individual love of music, whilst also prioritising good technique. Feel free to call me if you feel I would be a good fit for either yourself or your child! I hold a QLD Blue Card for working with children.

My first instrument was the piano, and I have had a number of years' experience playing piano and keyboard in my church's worship band.
