Hi, I am a freelance violinist with a Bmus (Hons) from WAAPA and I regularly play and perform. My love for teaching began when I was quite young and have been passionate teacher for many years now. Since 2009 I have been an active member of the Suzuki talent education association of WA and will soon have my primary accreditation.

What is the Suzuki Method?
Suzuki Talent Education is a music education method developed Dr Shinichi Suzuki from Japan. It is called his method the Mother Tongue approach.

Suzuki observed that any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue.

A child learns to speak by:

Step-by-step progress
Parent involvement
Each of these factors is at work in the Suzuki Method of musical education. Suzuki combines a teaching method with a philosophy, which embraces the total development of the child.

A child can start learning from the age of 3. Those who wish to do the suzuki method will need to join the STEAWA association and will get benefits such as workshops with world renowned Suzuki teachers, group classes, workshops and concerts.
