Casselle is a graduate of the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, where she completed her Bachelor of Music Performance with First Class Honours, under the tutelage of renowned teachers, Stephen Grant and Anna Connolly. She is a professional singer and experienced instrumental and theory teacher who has been performing both piano and singing since childhood. She first began teaching at age 15 and has studied classical singing at a professional level privately for over 16 years in Australia, The Netherlands and Italy.
Casselle is as at home teaching children as she is adults and has a developed understanding of the different approaches, demands, expectations and teaching techniques required for both.
Along with teaching, Casselle also performs professionally with the Melbourne and Victorian opera companies. In addition, she works as a freelance classical vocalist. She has trained with some of the leading vocal coaches in the world and feels honoured to be able to pass this knowledge and experience onto her students.
Lessons can be tailored to your creative needs, whether you wish to undergo serious classical training, acquire greater vocal health, work on your music theatre skills, prepare for an audition, develop your artistry as a singer/song writer/performer or gain a basic understanding of vocal control to experience the simple joy singing. Casselle is also a piano teacher and is more than happy to combine voice and basic keyboard skills to get you or your child enjoying music more completely.
Why learn singing from a classical teacher if you are not a classical singer?
If you have ever studied an instrument, you will probably already be aware that no musical genre develops technique and provides a musician with a better foundation than that of classical training, and the voice is no exception. No matter what style you’re interested in studying and regardless of your current level of development, through classical technique, better than ever before, Casselle will be able help you understand your voice and vocal anatomy, find the most efficient breath management and support, discover greater vocal control, build your range, develop your sensory awareness and improve your musicianship skills. And all this can be achieved through your personal style and choice of repertoire. Casselle will always adapt lessons to the personal goals of students, in their chosen musical style and is happy to workshop almost any chosen piece, including original material. Please visit the ‘tesimonials’ page for recommendations from other non classical students.
