I am experienced teacher in composition and music theory. I have lectured and tutored at Stanford University, the University of Melbourne, Caulfield Grammar, and Melbourne High School. I am delighted to tailor lesson programs to students' individual needs, areas of interest, and learning styles. Lesson topics can range from compositional techniques, notation, aesthetics, theory, analysis, and more. I am available to teach at my studio in the Ivanhoe area or on Zoom.
As a composer, my music has featured at numerous festivals internationally including Ear to the Ground (Belgium), Kalv Festivalen (Sweden), MATA (USA), and SPOR (Denmark). My works have been commissioned by major soloists and ensembles including: Apartment House (UK), ELISION (Australia), Ensemble SurPlus (Germany), Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (Australia), Spektral Quartet (USA), Adam Tendler (USA), and Zubin Kanga (Australia).
I can also provide specialized instruction in experimental music, innovative scoring formats (e.g. graphic, text, audio, video), live electronics, audio recording, editing and mixing, as well as interdisciplinary art practice.
