Charlie Woods

Hi my names Charlie, I'm a trumpet player/composer/performer and teacher currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
I am a qualified and experienced trumpet teacher, dedicated to helping students achieve their individual goals through lessons. I’ve completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Performance) at Victorian College of the Arts on trumpet and have had over 5 years of playing and teaching experience.

Lessons cover essential elements of playing trumpet including:

Technique – Whole body relaxed, relaxed breathing, relaxed lips, face,arms, working on zero tension
Tone – Developing a warm or bright tone
Improvising – Developing solos, learning a variety of approaches and methods for improvising.
Repertoire – Learning songs and reading music
Theory – Reading notated music, learning basic chord/scale relationship
Aural – Developing aural skills, working on playing what you hear on the spot, Charlie can also help with preparations for auditions and VCE performances.
