I started writing and producing original music after discovering garageband on my parents old mac computer when I was 11 years old. Soon after, I decided that creating music would be the career I pursued.
In 2011 I studied a certificate IV in songwriting and music production, recorded and released my first EP (small album of 6 tracks). In 2012 I toured and recorded in Malaysia as part of an acoustic duo. After returning to Perth, we released our EP and received 2 WAM (Western Australia Music Awards) song of the year nominations. In 2013 I travelled to Sound City, LA to work with Matt Wallace and Aron Freidman on an original EP for just over a month. I had the opportunity of working with world-class musicians, songwriters and videographers. Once I returned home, I started gigging regularly around Perth and teaching voice privately.
In 2014 I wrote, recorded, produced and released 2 original EP’s, another one of my own and the second with electronic trio “Future Entity”. I also performed with WASO (Western Australian Symphony Orchestra), Lior and Nigel Westlake at the Perth Concert Hall.
In 2015 I commenced a bachelor in Audio Engineering at SAE and was signed to EGM Records. I started a music school (Dalkeith Road School of Music), where I teach singing, songwriting and music production to all ages. I am the founder and manager of the school, overseeing 6 staff and now have over 70 students. I also auditioned for HGC (House Gospel Choir, UK) and was successful. Performed at Chevron Gardens with HGC during PIAF (Perth International Arts Festival).
In 2016 I travelled to Oxford for a month (where EGM records is based) to record my single “Truth” which is available on all online platforms.
In 2017 I ended my contact with EGM records to pursue my own independent music career. I had to pleasure of performing live on Telethon. My husband (Sam Wylde) and I started our own recording/studio/production business called “Fable Productions”, which is based in Osbourne Park at VILLA studios.
In 2018 I released my EP “Edge of Myself”, which is available to listen to via my website (www.chelseacullen.com) or any other online platforms.
