Cheryl Durongpisitkul

Cheryl has been playing the saxophone for 15 years and has studied under some of Australia's finest tutors, such as Tony Hicks (Melbourne) and Jamie Oehlers (Perth). She attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts majoring in jazz performance (2011) and graduated with First Class Honours from the VCA/MCM Bmus (honours) in 2016.

Over the years, Cheryl has performed at various venues and festivals around Melbourne and Perth including Hamer Hall, Bennetts Lane, the Jazzlab, White Night and the Wangaratta Jazz Festival and has been the recipient of a number of awards including the Margaret Schofield Scholarship for Music upon her move to Perth. She has attended various workshops over the years including travelling to Canada to learn from some of the finest Jazz musicians in the world including Ravi Coltrane and Grammy Winner Esperanza Spalding.
