Experienced violin teacher looking for students of all ages and levels. Can teach beginners up to intermediate/advanced players (approx. grade 5 AMEB or equivalent). Can prepare students for AMEB exams, however this is not a requirement.
Chloe is a 27 year old musician, teacher and performer. She began learning the violin when she was 7 years old, and was accepted via audition into Marryatville High School's Special Interest Music Program (South Australia), where she undertook intensive study including 2 music lessons per school day. At Marryatville, she grew to an advanced playing level and began playing at professional engagements such as weddings and private events. She went on to study a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) at Federation University, Ballarat. Whilst studying at Federation University, she took on many private students for violin tutoring, singing and acting lessons. Chloe has lived in Melbourne since graduating in 2014, and is pursuing a career in Music Theatre and Performance. As a performer, Chloe enjoys combining singing, acting, dancing and violin playing. For example, every summer holidays since 2014, Chloe has featured as the violin-playing Mole in the Australian Shakespeare Company's Wind in the Willows, an interactive childrens' show.
Chloe is looking for violin students of a beginner to intermediate level. Adults welcome - it's never too late to start! Chloe will cater to whatever level of learning you or your child requires, whether you want to learn casually, just for fun, or to pursue more serious goals. Chloe is currently teaching privately in Southbank, and does relief teaching occasionally at Learn Music in Kew. Chloe enjoys teaching a range of material, including the AMEB syllabus, various other teaching books, and anything you would like to learn - if you're not into classical music, she is sure to find something you are interested in, whether it be learning Disney melodies or classic rock solos. Chloe owns both a regular acoustic violin and an electric violin (it is a brilliant red and has 5 strings, as opposed to the usual 4!).
In violin teaching, Chloe values the importance of aural skills, sight reading, and passion in playing. She believes in the importance of music education, as it helps develop and improve skills such as creativity, fine motor skills, discipline and organisation, memory capacity, perseverance, coordination, and general intelligence.
