Chloe began learning the violin at the age of 5 and achieved both the AMEB Associate Diploma (AMusA) and Licentiate Diploma (LMusA) with Distinction by the age of 16. She studied violin for many years under Fintan Murphy and is currently pursuing university studies.
Chloe graduated from St Margaret's Berwick Grammar (SMBG) as the top scorer for VCE Music Performance Repertoire. She was selected by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) to perform as a violin soloist in the 2024 VCE Seasons of Excellence: Top Class Music at the Melbourne Recital Centre. During her time at SMBG, she served as concertmaster of the SMBG Symphony Orchestra and String Ensemble, as well as the leader of the String Quartet from 2020 to 2024. Chloe has performed extensively as a soloist, concertmaster, string quartet leader, orchestral musician, and choir member, participating in numerous concerts, events, and local competitions.
Her accolades include winning the Master’s Recital, the Virtuosic Performer Prize, the Jean Heriot Prize for Excellence in Music, the Fay Miscamble Award for Service to the School, and the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership Award. Chloe also received the Bill Borthwick Young Musician Prize and numerous prizes from local eisteddfods. As concertmaster of the SMBG String Ensemble, she led the group to win the Monash Youth Music Festival Large Ensemble Section twice. Additionally, she was an active participant in school musicals, taking on a lead role in The Wiz during her final year, and served as the Music and Performing Arts Captain in Year 12.
Beyond school, Chloe has been a dedicated violinist with the Melbourne String Ensemble (MSE) for over eight years, performing locally and internationally. She toured Europe with the ensemble, playing in renowned venues such as Tonhalle Maag in Zurich and Liederhalle in Stuttgart, and participating in masterclasses with esteemed professors. Recent performances with MSE include The Seasons Project in April 2022 at the Melbourne Recital Centre and The Seasons 2 in December 2023 at The Edge, Federation Square.
