Improvisation is perhaps one of the most feared aspects of music making by musicians who have not yet learned to savour its delights. It is also one of the most challenging, fun and rewarding areas of music making!
There is a fair amount of mystique surrounding improvisation with some people believing they will never be able to do it. But with a few basic techniques, any musician with fundamental playing skills can be improvising in a very short time.
Lessons focus on developing an understanding of harmony and scale-chord relationships, a building of melodic and rhythmic vocabulary, and working on developing the aural imagination ("hearing" music in your head). Various styles and genres are covered.
