I’m Daniel Chieng, a graduate of Bachelor of Music, Classical Performance (Piano) with Honours from University of Adelaide.
I think music is a very common way for kids or teenagers to express themselves and to convey a message or story. I'm passionate about teaching and I love to help others to achieve their hidden potentials. Through solving problems, challenging their limits and exploring their creativity, students will be able to take lessons learnt in music to catalyse their learning progress in various other areas, while having lots of fun!
A brief description of my teaching method:
I believe in the importance of demonstration. I often demonstrate because music is largely about sound and students will be able to feel what is being explained by words. Thus, developing a better understanding of the music. I try to have a balance of emphasis on both technique and artistry. Good music production exist with equal integration of both aspects.
Other than providing private lessons, I'm the piano tutor at St. Aloysius and Rostrevor College. I've also played for a musical at St. Peter's Girls College. On top of that, I also provide accompaniment services to students undergoing exams, performances, choirs etc.
I teach from grade 1 to grade 8. I mainly provide AMEB syllable but ABRSM or Trinity syllables can be provided upon request. Theory lessons can also be provided upon request.
