Hi! My name is Daniel and I am a graduate of the Conservatorium High School, the State’s (NSW) only specialist music high school. I have been actively teaching for numerous years. I am open to teaching students of all ages, grades/levels and strengths (subject to availability - contact to check!).
Aside from teaching, I am also an active chamber and orchestral violinist in the Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) as well as other regional orchestras.
Some of my most recent achievements include:
- Ranking FIRST in my cohort for HSC Music 2 & achieving Band 6 (96/100) (highest achievement possible)
- Ranking FIRST in my cohort for HSC Music Extension & achieving E4 (50/50) (highest achievement possible)
- Being selected to perform at HSC ENCORE (City Recital Hall, Angel Place)
- Achieving the prestigious CHAOS Award for Performance in the Chamber Music Program along with my Piano Trio, mentored by renowned Australian-classical-pianist Kathryn Selby AM (Conservatorium High School award)
Furthermore, I have also attended various national/international violin competitions and performance programs which have all aided in supporting my teaching. Some of these programs include the Summer School programmed by the Cuskelly College of Music (a national camp for students/teachers, specialising in the Kodály methodology), Australian Youth Orchestra's 'National Music Camp' as well as various Sydney & St. George Eisteddfods events, which I have received prizes for.
I am currently undergoing a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in violin performance (BMus - Perf) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
After my fourteen years of violin playing, I can confidently tell you that picking up the violin is certainly worth giving a go because I truly believe there is a special talent to be discovered in everyone!
