My experience as a cello student.
I am an adult beginner cello student, who had actually been rather crushingly rejected by another teacher after just one lesson. I tentatively contacted Daniel to enquire about lessons…
Daniel is an amazing teacher, who made me feel welcome from the very beginning of the first lesson. His lessons are actually fun. He makes even an adult student, feel they are going to learn how to play this beautiful instrument. He talks to his students as equals, rather than inexperienced students. He is incredibly patient, knowledgeable and encouraging.
Under Daniel’s guidance, I am now playing in a community orchestra and have played cello on a contemporary artist’s recording. I would never have had the skill or confidence to do that, were it not for Daniel’s help.
Daniel is a great musician. I have seen him play several times in orchestras or with his quartet. He is also a wonderful teacher and I thoroughly recommend him if you really want to learn to play the cello.
I've been taking private lessons from Daniel over the last three years, and I'm so grateful for this opportunity. I'm an adult student who is already busy with many commitments in life, and learning a new instrument would not have happened without Daniel's patience and flexibility. Daniel always has interesting stories and facts about the pieces we play, which makes the learning so enjoyable. He is also very passionate, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic in teaching. He always comes with magical tips and solutions to correct my hand shape or alleviate the mental pain of playing new pieces. Please note that Daniel would function better after his daily dose of caffeine. Lol
