PIANO LESSONS

David is a pianist and veteran piano teacher, whose career spans over 25 years.

Pre 2000, he graduated from Yamaha Academy of Music with Advanced Diploma Certificate, followed by Bachelor of Music Honours from University of Middlesex based in Trent Park London. He majors in piano performance as his core study whilst undertaking other sub-specialties such as music history, pedagogy, international music studies, music production, music law and business management, amongst others.

David is a co-partner and founder of Tohkemy Music Academy based in Malaysia. He also holds teaching position at Technics Music and Yamaha Music. His past partners and associates includes Kawai Piano, Yamaha music, Young Chang Piano, Bentley Music, Eurostring, and Guitar Collection.

In 2010, his interest in performance research and methodology brought him back to his alma mater - Middlesex University in London where he obtained his Masters in Performance Research. During this time, his core subject being 19th Century studies focusing on Chopin in Victorian England. Other sub-modules includes musicology, music research methodology, performance anxiety and stage fright psychology.

David is privileged to study under renowned and highly skilled musicians, among some were: Mr. Ng Chong Lim -Malaysian Composer and concert pianist; Captain Krzystof Slomiak - Boston University Pianist; Ms. Laura O’ Gormon - Steinway Piano Artist; Dr. François Evans, Dr. Chris Dromey; and Prof. Peter Fribbins.
