Master of Contemporary Arts (Music), Bachelor of Contemporary Arts (Music)
Dianne first started playing piano at the age of 13, and hasn’t been able to part with it since! Within the first two years of her piano tuition, Dianne completed Grade 5 Classical Piano, paving the way for further accomplishments. In 2003, Dianne turned to jazz theory and performance, studying a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts (Music) at the University of Tasmania. She then went on to lead her own jazz trio, Dianne Johnston Trio, which received regular performances throughout Launceston between 2004 and 2007; at which many of her own works featured. Moving to Sydney in 2007, followed by Perth 2010, Dianne accompanied and performed with various artists, with a guest artist appearance at The Ellington Jazz Club in March 2013 with local star Sonja Plummer. Returning to Tasmania in 2014, Dianne continues to hone her craft and share her skills and knowledge with budding musicians.
